Temperature-resistant and salt-tolerant mixed surfactant system for EOR in the Tahe Oilfield

Abstract A new temperature-resistant and salt-tolerant mixed surfactant system (referred to as the SS system) for enhancing oil recovery at Tahe Oilfield (Xinjiang, China) was evaluated. Based on analysis of crude oil, formation water rock components in Oilfield, long-term thermal stability, salt tolerance ability change wettability, interfacial activity washing efficiency were studied. The contains anionic SDB another cationic SDY. When total mass concentration solution is 0.15 wt%, m(SDB)/m(SDY) ratio 1 1, excellent efficiencies are achieved five kinds oils (more than 60%). In addition, after adding surfactant, adsorption capacity further reduced, reaching 0.261 mg/g. displacement experiments indicate that under a temperature 150 °C salinity 24.6 × 10 4 mg/L, enhances by over 10% flooding. anionic–cationic first presented open literature can be successfully applied obtain predictions carbonate reservoirs with high salinity.
